Journalist Confirms Club Managed By Ex Chelsea And Man United Boss Have Tabled“Official Offer”For Man City Star

Fenerbahce have lodged an “official offer” for Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Turkish Super Lig side (who are coached by former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho) are seemingly keen on securing the services of the England international.

Walker has recently returned from a loan spell at AC Milan. The Rossoneri did have the option to buy the fullback for €5m (£4.25m) but they decided against keeping him.

The 35-year-old is, however, still keen on leaving the Etihad on a permanent basis but it remains to be seen if he is open to joining Mourinho in Turkey.

Walker is not part of Man City’s future plans

It wasn’t a surprise but the defender was not named in Pep Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup. Both Walker and Jack Grealish were left at home.

While he did start last season as club captain, Walker made it known midway through the season that he wanted a new challenge, leading to his move to Italy.

He still has a year left on his contract at the Etihad so he won’t be allowed to move for free this summer, but Fenerbahce’s bid is unlikely to be sizeable.

A replacement for Walker is being targeted

Director of Football Hugo Viana is hoping to secure a new right-back before the start of the new Premier League season. However, the top option, Tino Livramento, won’t be easy to get.

His club Newcastle paid £40m for the 22-year-old two years ago and the Magpies are said to be unwilling to part ways.

Livramento has supplanted Kieran Trippier as first-choice at St James’ Park and many regard him as England’s future No.1 right-back. He is currently with the Three Lions at the European Under 21 Championships so any deal would not be completed until he returns.
