Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored the most points in an NBA Finals game without recording an assist since Joe Fulks in 1947, finishing with 35.
The Oklahoma City Thunder pulled off a gritty comeback win in Game 4, defeating the Indiana Pacers 111–104 on the road.
OKC trailed for most of the night but delivered when it mattered most, outscoring Indiana 31–17 in the fourth quarter to seal a crucial victory and even the series at 2–2.
Leading the charge was none other than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who turned in a historic performance in the clutch.
He not only became the first player since 1971 to score 15 points in the final five minutes of an NBA Finals game, he also finished with 35 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds—remarkably, without recording a single assist.
According to Law Murray, his 35-point outing is the most by a player without an assist in a Finals game since 1947, when Joe Fulks scored 37.
Now, the Thunder will have a chance to take control of the series when Game 5 tips off Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.
