Report: What Xabi Alonso has now 'internally' told Real Madrid officials about Rodrygo after Arsenal eye move

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes.

The Brazil international has been a key player for the Galacticos for several years now, but there has been speculation that he could leave.

Arsenal are big fans of Rodrygo, and if an opportunity to sign him presented itself, there’s every chance that they will make a move.

But, there is some bad news for Arsenal fans now.

Xabi Alonso makes Rodrygo Goes decision at Real Madrid after Arsenal links

Xabi Alonso has replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid’s new manager.

The Spaniard did a great job at Bayer Leverkusen during his time there, and his task now is to take the Galacticos to the next level.

Alonso has several decisions to make about his squad, and one of them involves the future of Rodrygo Goes, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners need a new winger this summer, and there isn’t a better option available on the market than the Real Madrid star.

However, UOL have now claimed that Alonso has ‘internally’ warned Real Madrid’s hierarchy that he wants to keep hold of Rodrygo.

The Spaniard is said to be completely against the transfer, which suggests that Arsenal are likely to miss out unless the player forces a move away.

Three wingers Arsenal could sign other than Rodrygo and Nico Williams

Rodrygo isn’t the only winger Arsenal could miss out on; Nico Williams could end up staying in Spain too.

TBR Football can confirm that Barcelona remain the only club Williams wants to join, while Athletic Bilbao are keen to extend his stay at the club as well.

So, who else could Arsenal go for? Here are three options:

Rafael Leao: Leao is an incredible winger. The Portuguese attacker is rapid, a great dribbler, and his numbers show that he can score and provide goals. He would be a great option.

Antoine Semenyo: The Bournemouth star just had a terrific season under Andoni Iraola. Semenyo is an Arsenal fan as well, and he would be a decent option to bring in.

Jamie Gittens: Chelsea have been pushing to sign Gittens, but since a deal is not yet done there, Arsenal should consider making a move to sign the talented Englishman.
