Viktor Gyokeres has REJECTED a move to Manchester United, reports in Portugal have claimed. The Swedish striker had been linked with a switch to Old Trafford to reunite him with former Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim.
But as per Record, Gyokeres has turned down the chance to become a Red Devil, with his agents informing United chiefs. Arsenal now appear to be in the lead for his services as they too pursue his signature.
Gyokeres' decision comes after the striker broke his silence on the ongoing saga when it comes to his future. It was previously reported that Sporting had turned down a £55m bid for his signature from Arsenal.
That apparently triggered anger from the former Coventry man, who was seemingly led to believe his current employers would allow him to leave for a modest fee, only to up their demands.
And that led Gyokeres to threaten strike action to force through a move away. Taking to Instagram, Gyokeres wrote: He said: "There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right."
