Manchester United's new signing Matheus Cunha has sent a message to Bryan Mbeumo about his potential move to Old Trafford amid the ongoing saga with the Brentford star.
Cunha became United's first signing of the summer earlier this month after his £62.5million release clause at Wolves was triggered. The payment will be split across three instalments with the Brazil international signing a five-year contract with the option of an additional year at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim is expected to look to bring in at least two more players this summer and after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea, Mbeumo is now the priority. The Brentford star is a wanted man after bagging 20 Premier League goals last season.
It had previously been understood that Mbeumo wanted to join Cunha at Old Trafford with an agreement with Brentford the only crease to iron out. However, Thomas Frank's move to Tottenham has sparked interest from north London which could make the move more difficult.
United's opening bid worth £55m with add-ons was rejected by the Bees and talk of a second offer has emerged. However, The Mirror have reported that Spurs have submitted a bid worth £70m with add-ons.

Fortunately, Mbuemo is said to prefer a move to United after giving an indication of his first-choice destination earlier this month. It leaves United in pole position to strike a deal with Brentford before Tottenham hijack the move.
Cunha, who had interest from Arsenal, has opened up about his move to Old Trafford in his first sit-down interview since joining the club.
In the interview with MUTV, the former Wolves star sent a cryptic message to Mbeumo on why United is the right club to join.
"I think my decision [to join United] maybe outside, they don't understand, it was a little bit complicated," he said.
"When you always dream to play [for United], it's easier to make this decision. But, for me, no one is like United, you know? When you have the possibility to come here... I know it was a hard season for everyone, but I think my decision shows a lot what this club is for me and what I believe it can be."
The 26-year-old also hyped-up the job United boss Amorim did in prising him away from Molineux, another nod to Mbeumo on what to expect from the Portuguese.
"I really believe in him, everything he did in Portugal, like I say, I hope he can conquer the world like he did in Portugal, but of course, I think he needs players who can everything like I am open to doing," he added.
"All the conversations we had made my decision easier."
