The future of Man City star Jack Grealish remains up in the air.
The 2024/25 campaign was a tough one for the Englishman at the Etihad Stadium as the winger was barely used, having fallen down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.
Grealish has been left out of Man City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which is a huge indication that the 29-year-old will need to find a new club ahead of the new season.
It was reported last week that Grealish has accepted that his Man City career is over, with Napoli among the favourites to sign the Premier League winger.
However, the Serie A champions have now made contact with a Liverpool star, which could all but end any hopes Grealish had of moving to Italy.

However, Napoli have now made contact with the 25-year-old to gauge his interest in a move to Italy, with more talks to take place soon as the Liverpool star is one of the top names on the Serie A champions’ transfer list.

Similar to Grealish, Nunez’s big-money move to Anfield has not worked out; however, Jurgen Klopp was one man that doesn’t have any doubt about the Uruguayan’s quality.
“He loves to play for this team together with these boys and has quality coming out of his ears, to be honest,” the former Liverpool manager said last year via the BBC.
Antonio Conte will be confident of extracting this out of Nunez next season should he lure the 25-year-old to Naples, and if that deal is completed, a move for Grealish is very unlikely.
Napoli will not be able to afford to sign Jack Grealish
Man City are seeking £50m to sell Grealish this summer, which is a fee that is out of the range of most clubs interested in the winger.
Even a loan deal would be expensive if Man City do not cover most of the costs, as the 29-year-old earns £300,000-a-week at the Etihad Stadium.
With Napoli having signed Kevin De Bruyne and a potential large transfer fee being paid for Nunez, any sort of deal for Grealish seems out of the question.
This would be a blow for the Englishman as a move to Naples would have likely intrigued him, especially with De Bruyne at the club, as the winger was close to the Belgian superstar at City.
Remaining in the Premier League remains the most likely option for the 29-year-old this summer, but no club have yet to make an official move for the Man City star.
