Liverpool believe they can outpace Manchester United and Chelsea in the battle to sign 22-year-old Hugo Ekitike this summer.
United, Liverpool and Chelsea in Hugo Ekitike Pursuit
Liverpool, Manchester Utd, and Chelsea are all circling around Hugo Ekitike, as per Florian Plettenberg. However, reports suggest the Reds are now leading the chase.

The PL champions have already reached out to both Ekitike’s camp and his current club, Eintracht Frankfurt. This shows their serious intent to bring him to Anfield.
Meanwhile, Frankfurt have set a huge €100m price tag on their star. That means any move will take time and smart talks. Liverpool’s plan depends heavily on outgoings, especially the likely sale of Darwin Nunez. His poor form has left the club considering fresh options up front.
In addition, Ekitike is reportedly open to waiting for Liverpool to sort their squad before deciding. That shows strong interest from his side too.
Premier League Rivals Still in the Hunt
While the Reds sit in pole position, Man Utd and Chelsea aren’t backing down. Utd recently made contact with Frankfurt to express their interest. They are seeing Ekitike as a long-term boost to their frontline alongside Matheus Cunha.
Enzo Maresca’s side, on the other hand, continue to look for attacking options but haven’t made a move yet. Still, the German side have made one thing clear that no club will sign their man for under €100m.
Liverpool’s edge comes from a mix of serious interest, tactical planning, and the player’s willingness to join. The club will be getting potential funds from Nunez’s exit. They are planning to strengthen other positions as well. They are monitoring Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and Sporting’s Goncalo Inacio at the moment.
Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim’s side are quietly getting ready for a huge summer. It’s a wait and see on whether they can get a deal done on Ekitike.
