Is Nico Williams using Bayern Munich as leverage to get a deal with FC Barcelona?

It seems pretty evident that Bayern Munich is serious about getting Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, but how determined is he to actually move to Bavaria?

Maybe not much at all.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano dropped posts here and here, which kind of make it sound as if Williams might be using Bayern Munich as leverage to get a deal with FC Barcelona:

Nico Williams agent met with Barça today after two meeting with Bayern and the player’s open to Barcelona move this summer, confirmed.

More on Nico Williams: Barcelona got clear message from the player on being open to joining the club this summer.

Bayern are willing to make an effort, he’s still also on Arsenal list while Barça have their chance now.

⚪️ Athletic are ready to offer new deal if he stays.

Is it questionable that FC Barcelona would have the money to get Williams, but the Catalans have been linked very closely to Williams for years now. Did the threat of a potential move to Bayern Munich, awaken the slumbering front office at Camp Nou?
