Viktor Gyokeres is looking for his next club after a complete breakdown in his relationship with Sporting CP.
Tensions have been building over a gentleman’s agreement put in place between the two parties when the striker signed his new contract at the club.
The premise of the agreement was that despite Gyokeres’ £85 million release clause, the striker would be allowed to leave the club for less than this if he wanted.
It’s understood that the main dispute causing a very public breakdown in the relationship comes down to how much a club would be expected to pay.
Whilst Gyokeres was seemingly under the impression a fee of £58 million would allow for a move whilst Sporting have announced that no set fee was agreed.
Manchester United have been hoping to capitalise on the breakdown, with Gyokeres being their dream signing become their first-choice striker.
The Sweden international has been linked with United since Ruben Amorim took the hot seat back in November.
However, Portuguese outlet Record has now reported that Gyokeres is not looking to move to Old Trafford this summer.
It’s understood that Gyokeres’ agent has communicated this to Ruben Amorim despite the pair still being in contact since parting ways last year.
Premier League rivals Arsenal are very much in the race for the talent striker, with meetings being held between the London-based side and Gyokeres’ agent.
