Manchester City could be forced in loaning Jack Grealish out this summer according to reports. Everton have been linked with the out-of-favour midfielder in this window.

Grealish was left out of City's squad for the upcoming Club World Cup, putting his long-term future in serious doubt at the Etihad Stadium.

The England international was a £100 million signing from Aston Villa and while he played a crucial role in City winning the treble in 2023, he has fallen down the pecking order in recent months.

According to the Guardian, City are open to selling Grealish on a permanent basis. They are said to value him at around £50 million.

However, in the report it's said City are "yet to receive a formal offer" for the player. "Grealish has two years remaining on terms that earn him about £300,000 a week," the report continued. "If there are no willing suitors regarding a permanent transfer, City may consider a loan."

As reported by the ECHO this week, the £300,000-a-week salary would represent a potential problem for Everton if they were to pursue a deal.

With that mind, a loan move would be the most likely option late in the window, of which City would likely have to cover a large portion of Grealish's wages.

Everton are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer. They have already added Carlos Alcaraz to the squad and have been strongly linked with a move for Thierno Barry at Villarreal in the last 24 hours.

Barry, a France youth international striker, has a £34 million release clause in his current contract. David Moyes made no secret of his intent to strengthen the team's forward line, confirming the club were in talks with Liam Delap before he joined Chelsea.
