Liverpool could hamper Everton’s attempts to sign James McAtee.
David Moyes is keen on reinforcements and the Manchester City star has been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Blues have already missed out on one Citizens academy graduate as Liam Delap chose to join Chelsea rather than make the move to Merseyside.
They could be about to miss out on another after new developments involving their city neighbours.

Liverpool signing Wirtz could stop Everton deal
Everton are keen to bring McAtee in this summer but they face competition from rivals in England and across Europe.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen seems to be edging towards completion and Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes it could have consequences for the Blues.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “I quite like McAtee, I’ve seen him four or five times for Manchester City, and I know Bayer Leverkusen were thinking about him as Florian Wirtz’s replacement in their squad.
“I think there is quite a few clubs sniffing around, he is a clever type with a bit of flair, a little bit short of top-level experience, he has only had bits and pieces.
“Everton have got Ndiaye, haven’t they, is there room for both of them, I am not sure.
“I think he looks a talent, but you want to see more proof of that before you went the whole hog on him.”

Everton could still raid Man City for a creative star
The England Under-21 ace is unproven at Premier League level, so missing out on his services may not be a bad thing.
The Toffees also hold an interest in his City teammate Jack Grealish, and the former Aston Villa man may be the safer bet.
Stats McAtee Grealish
Matches 48 190
Goals 6 27
Assists 3 31
Minutes played 2,188 12,764
McAtee v Grealish in the PL.
He has nearly 200 appearances in the top-flight in his career with 58 goal contributions compared to McAtee’s 48 games and nine contributions.
Signing the 22-year-old would be a gamble, he has a higher potential than Grealish but has done next to nothing to prove that he can, whereas the feeling with the 29-year-old is that he just needs a change of scenery to get back to his best.
