Gunners are also desperate to sign a new striker this summer. Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Gyokeres. They will be able to provide Champions League football to the Swedish striker. In contrast, United will not play in any European competition.
Arsenal are said to have submitted Β£55 million offer to sign Gyokeres. But, Sporting have rejected the offer. They are demanding his Β£85 million release clause to be paid fully. This is stretching the Gyokeres transfer saga and the player is not happy with Sporting.
United will now have to look at other strikers. They have Benjamin Sesko on their radar but have not made any move for him. Instead, they have officially joined the race for Hugo Ekitike. The French striker will also cost Β£85 million.
