Report: David Moyes personally approves 'outstanding player' for Everton, talks set for coming…

Everton’s recruitment setup may have changed by their manager has told the Friedkins to go sign one specific player.

David Moyes will struggle to take a back seat when it comes to this summer’s transfers with plenty needing to be done on Merseyside.

The transfer window has shut for a matter of days as Everton boast the permanent addition of Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo.

But there are clear holes emerging in the squad as Everton eye four key signings this summer.

Everton are eagerly awaiting Idrissa Gana Gueye’s decision with a new contract having been offered to the Senegal international.

A new midfielder is needed at Finch Farm to bolster the options available to Moyes and there is one who the 62-year-old specifically wants to sign.

David Moyes tells Everton to sign Fred

Everton have shown an interest in Fred with his time with Turkish giants Fenerbahce coming under real scrutiny.

The Brazilian midfielder has plenty of Premier League experience to his name having played previously at Manchester United.

Now, Turkish outlet Takvim are claiming it is Moyes who is pushing Everton’s interest in the 32-year-old midfielder.

It is suggested Everton are prepared to pay a big fee to land the midfielder who is currently playing under Jose Mourinho.

The Turkish side are valuing Fred in the region of £15m, but it is yet to be seen whether Everton will meet that with talks scheduled for the coming days.

The irony is Fenerbahce want to replace Fred with Yves Bissouma who is also on Everton’s radar this summer.

With Gueye’s future still hanging in the balance, adding an experienced figure like Fred may prove a smart move from Moyes.

Everton need experience ahead of stadium transition

Moyes is keen to keep Seamus Coleman at Everton as the Toffees prepare for their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It is going to be a huge change for the club and there is going to need to be players of Coleman’s experience to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Although Fred may not have the club knowledge that Coleman or Gueye does, he is still a vastly experienced player who could bring a good mentality to the club.

Ben Thornley hailed Fred as an ‘outstanding player’ on Manchester United’s website with a number of others around the club waxing lyrical about the Brazilian.

A lot will depend on whether Gueye stays on Merseyside or not but it seems Fred is a player Moyes does like.
