If you ever play in Madden Franchise mode, it is fun to check the NFL Career Stats Leaders and see if any of your current franchise players have a chance at jumping into the top NFL career stat leaders. Well, in real life that is just as fun. With that, let us look at where current (and some former) [Seattle Seahawks](https://www.fieldgulls.com/) rank in their career stats, and where they could end up by the end of the 2025 NFL Season. This article will look at defensive statistics, specifically tackles, and sacks for defense. [A previous article looked at passing, rushing, and receiving](https://www.fieldgulls.com/2025/6/12/24447513/where-former-current-seahawks-russell-wilson-cooper-kupp-stand-nfl-all-time-leaderboard-offense) yards on offense.
The Seahawks defense is relatively young, so there are not many players who chart in the top 250 of NFL career defensive stat Leaders (barring a trade for Trey Hendrickson or Jalen Ramsey). However, there are two members of the Seahawks defense to look at for sacks (Leonard Williams and Demarcus Lawrence). Meanwhile, there are two former Seahawks to watch out for (Jadeveon Clowney for Sacks, and Bobby Wagner for Tackles).
First, with sacks. **Leonard Williams** is currently ranked 185th in NFL history with 54.5 sacks. Williams had a very strong 2024 season (arguably an All-Pro snub). If Williams were to replicate his sack production from 2024 (as many Seahawks fans would love to see), that would raise him to 126th in NFL history with 65.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, Demarcus Lawrence is currently ranked 215th in NFL history with 61.5 sacks. Lawrence only recorded three sacks in 2024, so Seahawks fans would seemingly be disappointed if he replicated that stat line. However, with another three sacks, Lawrence would rise up to 194th in NFL History with 64.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, former (and potentially future) Seahawk, **Jadeveon Clowney** just makes the top 250, being ranked 247th in NFL history with 58 sacks. Clowney had a solid 5.5 sacks in 2024. Though he is yet to be signed, Clowney surely will be a part of an NFL roster in 2025. That roster could even be the Seahawks if Clowney were to want to reunite with Mike Macdonald who helped him reach his career high of 9.5 sacks in 2023. For purposes of this exercise, if Clowney were to match his 2024 season (with the Seahawks or another team), that would raise him to 199th in NFL history with 63.5 sacks.
Now, to talk about **Bobby Wagner**, arguably the greatest Seattle Seahawk of all time. Wagner is Mr. Tackle master himself. He is currently ranked _10__th_ _in NFL history with 1,071 tackles_. Wagner is not letting up either. In 2024 alone Wagner had another 100 plus tackle season with 132 tackles. In fact, Wagner has _never_ had a season with less than 100 tackles, and he does not seem ready to slow down any time soon. If Wagner were to replicate his 2024 season in 2025, that would raise him to _4__th_ _in NFL history (that’s right, 4__th_ _!!)_ with 1,203 tackles. At this rate, Wagner is three to four years away from getting himself into first place.
All in all, talking statistics is a fun exercise to have, but is far from the tell all in terms of NFL success. Some of the Seahawks’ key pieces to the 2025 season are not in this exercise due to pure youth (Devon Witherspoon, Ernest Jones, Riq Woolen). And who knows, five to ten years from now, there could be plenty of current Seahawks on this list as well.
