Heading into Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers were 8-0 during this playoff run with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark in attendance. However, they dropped to 8-1 on Friday night, as the Oklahoma City Thunder picked up a huge comeback win to even the series at 2-2. Of all the times the Pacers’ Clark streak could have snapped, that was one of the worst.
Clark has been [a staple supporter](https://8points9seconds.com/caitlin-clark-s-haliburton-message-will-have-pacers-fans-smiling-from-ear-ear) of the Pacers throughout this postseason run, and ever since the Fever drafted her in the 2024 WNBA Draft. And up until Friday night, she was their ultimate good luck charm.
But the luck just ran out.
**What happened to Pacers in Game 4?**
--------------------------------------
Indiana had their largest lead of the series in Game 4, up by as many as 10 points late in the third quarter. But as the fourth dragged on, the Thunder slowly whittled their way back into the game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander absolutely dominated, dropping 15 points in the final frame after a relatively quiet night. Meanwhile, the Pacers’ offense went ice cold.
OKC won the fourth quarter 31-17, and the Pacers shot a combined 5-of-18 (27.8%) from the field and 0-of-8 (0.0%) from behind the three-point line. Only two players outside of Tyrese Haliburton (3-of-7) made a shot in the fourth quarter (Andrew Nembhard and Obi Toppin).
The Pacers were wholly incapable of stopping the bleeding, and the Thunder marched forward, reclaiming home-court advantage in the series and tying things up at 2-2 heading back to Oklahoma City.
**Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton relationship**
----------------------------------------------------
Though Haliburton was unable to get the job done in Game 4, and Clark’s evidently lucky aura couldn’t give the Pacers a boost, the two superstars have formed a very close relationship.
[Ramona Shelburne of ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45501463/nba-finals-2025-tyrese-haliburton-caitlin-clark-most-powerful-friendship-basketball) captured their bond in a feature story in which Clark admits that both of them hope to be in Indiana for the rest of their respective careers.
"Ty and I would both tell you this is where we both hope to stay the rest of our careers," Clark said. "People are like, 'It's a small market.' But no, that's what makes it fun. These people, this is what means the world to them. We haven't hosted a Finals game in 25 years, and I've never seen this type of excitement. People are lining up three hours before the game. I literally just got the chills thinking about it.
And while Clark’s streak of seeing out Pacers wins came to a close on Friday night, she will certainly have a chance to restart it in Game 6 on Monday when the series heads back to Indiana. The Pacers will either be fighting for their season or playing for a championship.
