Viktor Gyokeres has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season with 45 goals across the Liga Portugal and Champions League campaigns.

This has led to many teams targeting Viktor Gyokeres as a part of their summer recruitment strategies as teams both in England and around the world prepare for their pre-season schedules and the 2025-26 season.

Amongst the teams targeting the striker are Manchester United, who are looking to improve on their 15th place finish in the Premier League and a campaign that saw the season end trophyless.

However, the club in which the Swedish international may join during the summer is unsure although a decision is looking inevitably closer as pre-season approaches.

Arsenal Submit Their First Bid

Now, it has been reported by Record that Arsenal have submitted a first bid for the striker as the North London side looking to build their frontline.

This bid is reported to be a fee of £46.8 million, with a possible £8.5m in add-ons. This is far below the £84 million release clause that was set by Sporting CP when the striker joined the Portuguese champions in 2023.

This follows reported meetings between Arsenal and Gyokeres’ agent around a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.

If Gyokeres was to move to the North London side, he would enter a side that has immense talent through the likes of Bukayo Saka and David Raya and a side that are looking to improve on a 2nd place finish in the Premier League this season (this is the third campaign in a row that this has occurred.)

Sporting Reject The Offer

However, it has been reported that Sporting CP have rejected this offer which shows the level of money that they are looking for when looking to sell the striker.

What is for sure is that the battle for the 27 year old is far from over yet.
