Arsenal are actively working on bolstering their squad this summer ahead of the new season.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished second for the third consecutive season, ending another season without a trophy.
One of the areas that the Gunners have prioritised is the attack, with Arsenal looking to sign a new top-class striker after falling short in the area this past season.
While Arsenal remain strongly linked with Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres is another name firmly on their radar.

Arsenal in active talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal reportedly tabled a bid to sign Gyokeres, but that bid fell short of Sporting’s expectations which has caused rifts between the player and the Portuguese club.
TBR Football has reported that Gyokeres believes he will be playing in the Premier League next season.
And while Manchester United remain in contact with Gyokeres, Fabrizio Romano has shared an exciting update for Arsenal fans regarding the Swede.
Romano claims that Arsenal remain very much involved, with recent contact being made about Gyokeres, keeping him a strong option for them.
While the Gunners recently held talks about Leipzig’s Sesko, those negotiations have yet to progress.
Romano suggests this is a transfer saga to watch closely in the coming days and weeks, as Arsenal’s interest in Gyokeres remains firm. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “I just want to tell you one thing. Manchester United keep calling for Victor Gyokeres. So Man United remain there always informed on the situation.
“But don’t forget Arsenal. Don’t forget Arsenal because Arsenal remain in active contact for Gyokeres. Arsenal last week had contact with Benjamin Sesko but still no agreement between Arsenal and Sesko. No agreement between Arsenal and Leipzig. So we are not really advanced stage of the negotiation. The conversations took place, advancing, but not the negotiations in terms of financial point of view.
“For Gyokeres new contacts are taking place. Arsenal are again in contact for Gyokeres. So he remains an option on Arsenal’s list. He remains a strong option, a player who is appreciated internally.
“But Gyokeres remains in contact with Arsenal, remains a player on Arsenal’s list and so remains a case to watch for the next days and weeks as soon as his exit will be clarified by Sporting.”
Viktor Gyokeres’s stats have been better than Mohamed Salah’s at Liverpool
Gyokeres is a ‘world class’ striker and he has proven that with the incredible stats he has racked up this past season.
In 33 league games, Gyokeres has scored 39 goals and assisted another eight. Across all competitions, he has racked up 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 games across all competitions.
He scored the most goals in Europe, more than Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah, both of whom are in the Ballon d’Or conversation for this year
Salah produced one of the best individual seasons in the Premier League, scoring 29 goals in 38 games and assisting another 18, playing a massive role in Liverpool winning the 20th league title.
Across all competitions, the Egyptian superstar scored 34 goals and assisted 23 in 52 games across competitions.

Mohamed Salah 52 34 23 57
Stats comparing Gyokeres vs Salah’s 24/25 season across all competitions
The stats show that Gyokeres had a much better output this past season, however, of course, that does not mean the two players are comparable.
Not only do they play two different positions, Salah’s stats are impressive given that he has produced those numbers in arguably the most difficult league in the world.
But that is not to undermine Gyokeres’ goalscoring form. It is his quality which has seen him attract interest from the Premier League giants.
