Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson has seen his fair share of late-round steals by the organization over the years.
Jason Kelce and Jordan Mailata are the best examples of that.
The Eagles are hoping for similar results from some of their more recent late-round offensive linemen. During the 2025 draft, Philadelphia drafted three offensive linemen: Drew Kendall, Myles Hinton, and Cameron Williams.
Those three offensive linemen have a long way to go before hitting the field for any meaningful action. Until then, though, Johnson is just pleased with the impression all three rookies are leaving in the classroom.
“In the meeting rooms and coaches are asking questions about what is this, what is that, they’re very smart, they’re in tune,” Johnson said. “They’ve been a lot of fun so far. I know they’re excited for camp. When they arrived to where they are now, they’ve picked things up really quickly.
"It makes it an easier transition from here to camp.”
If there's a coach who can mold young talent into quality starters, it is Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. That fact alone makes Kendall, Hinton, and Williams intriguing options for the future.
Johnson isn't going to be playing forever. At 35 years old, he's going to retire eventually. It is up to the Eagles to find his replacement. One of their linemen from the 2025 class may fill that role.
They will need to hit the field to show that, though.
Leaving a good impression on the veterans is just as important right now as well.
And Johnson has come away pleased with how each of them has worked.
