With the NBA offseason officially starting sometime over the next two weeks, one of the main talking points has been about Phoenix Suns star forward Kevin Durant. There is a strong belief around the league that Durant will be traded, and some believe it could happen before the NBA Draft takes place.
Phoenix reportedly shopped Durant at the trade deadline this year, giving even more thought to a potential move. There have been multiple teams linked with the former league MVP already, and the trade market has taken shape.

But according to NBA insider Marc Stein, one surprising team from the Eastern Conference seems to be entering the conversation. That would be the Toronto Raptors, who seem eager to bring in another superstar.
"What you're hearing now on Kevin Durant, there are teams out there that are saying, you know what, we know he's only under contract for one more year at about $55 million. We're willing to gamble on him. And the Toronto Raptors are one of those teams," Stein said. "And the Toronto Raptors have already done this. They've already gambled on a Hall-of-Fame-bound forward who had one year left on his deal, traded for Kawhi Leonard, won a championship, and immediately lost Kawhi Leonard."
Toronto is looking to get back to being contenders, and bringing in Durant would surely help with that. Even at his advanced age, Durant is still one of the better scorers in the NBA.

This past season, he averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. Raptors president Masai Ujiri is known to take risks, and Durant could be one of the biggest that he has made.
Toronto isn't seen by many as a title contender, but they could be looking to fully reshape the roster this offseason. The Raptors traded for Brandon Ingram at the trade deadline last year, and could pair Durant alongside him.
While it remains to be seen where Durant will end up, a trade seems very likely. The former MVP will be playing elsewhere next season, and the next chapter of his legendary career will be written.
