Ravens Face Potential 'Nightmare Scenario' in 2025

The Baltimore Ravens, regardless of how their postseason ended in 2024, had an incredible run.

Boasting the third-best record in the AFC at 12-5 that included regular-season wins over the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals (twice), Washington Commanders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but also head-scratching losses to the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders.

But overall, the Ravens imposed their dominance last season and hope to continue that in 2025, but with a deeper playoff run.

But if there's one thing that could derail Baltimore's season, it could be an injury or flat-out subpar performance by running back Derrick Henry.

Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon described each NFL team's "Nightmare 2025 Season in One Sentence or Less," and offered up Henry's season for the Ravens.

"Baltimore Ravens: Father Time finally catches up to a 31-year-old Derrick Henry just after signing a big, new contract, and the Ravens move in the wrong direction as a result."

While that's a concern of every NFL team, for some reason it seems to not apply to Henry and the Ravens.

Henry is 31 and rushed for 1,921 yards last season. That would've made headlines each and every week had it not been for the near-historic run of the Eagles' Saquon Barkley, who topped 2,000.

Also, most running backs begin to fade in their late 20s. Henry led the league with 349 carries at age 28 for 1,538 yards and at age 29 wth 280 carries for 1,167.

He shows no signs of slowing at an age where most running backs have been out of the league for two, three or four seasons already.

So, yes, while it would be a nightmare scenario, it seems far away at this point.
