After yet another disappointing season, Manchester United is already preparing to make significant moves in the transfer market.
Rasmus Hojlund had a difficult season at Old Trafford, with extended stretches of inactivity in front of goal interspersed with promising moments.
Behind the scenes, there is a growing recognition that another striker is required to share the load, even if the Red Devils continue to openly embrace the young Dane.
One striker on United’s agenda is Viktor Gyokeres.
After his relationship with Sporting CP completely collapsed, Viktor Gyokeres is searching for a new team.
A gentleman’s agreement that was established between the two sides when the striker signed his new deal with the team has been the source of growing tension.
But according to the Portuguese publication Record, Gyokeres has decided against moving to Old Trafford this summer and it seems he favours a move to rivals Arsenal FC.
Given that Champions League football is out of their grasp, United has identified a number of attacking possibilities throughout Europe and knows they need to take immediate action to avoid losing out.
One of the most intriguing forwards in the Bundesliga has now become a top target for the team.
And it seems now that the Red Devils are ramping up their efforts for the forward.

According to Simon Mullock of the Mirror, Manchester United are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
Manchester United and other Premier League powerhouses are showing a lot of interest in Hugo Ekitike, who has excelled in the German top division with Eintracht Frankfurt this season.
In all competitions, the 22-year-old French striker has scored 22 goals and dishevelled 12 assists, solidifying his place among Europe’s top clubs.
With manager Ruben Amorim keen to bolster his attacking options, Ekitike could soon be leading the line at Old Trafford.
