Phoenix Suns‘ All-Star forward Kevin Durant has been circulating in NBA trade rumors since February. With the future Hall of Famer now ready to sign off on a deal, it appears a trade is imminent with three finalists reportedly remaining.
ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported on the Pat McAfee Show that the Suns have received final offers from the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks. With the offers on the table, Phoenix could now finalize a deal by the end of the weekend.

John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports has previously stated that he thinks a deal will be done next week. He also suggested that as many as six teams could still have offers on the table for Phoenix, with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors among the clubs previously linked to a Durant trade.
Talks seem to be progressing quickly in light of a league-wide belief that Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be requesting a trade this summer, opting to give the Milwaukee Bucks another year. With Antetokounmpo seemingly off the table, Durant is the best player available for trade this summer.

Phoenix has made it clear since the offseason began that its goal is to move Durant ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday, June 25. Negotiations have evidently reached a point where a deal could be in place a week before the NBA Draft, which would open the door to other trades on draft night.
As of now, the Rockets and Timberwolves seem to be viewed as the co-favorites to acquire Durant. Houston has young talent and controls the rights to the Suns’ future first-round picks, while the Timberwolves could package center Rudy Gobert to solve a long-standing hole in the Suns’ lineup.
