Eagles All-Pro Credits Saints Star For Leadership Experience

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun has never been a vocal leader on any defenses he's played with over his five-year career.

That is about to change.

With so many departures from last year's Super Bowl title team, Baun is expected to take on more of a leadership role in 2025. To do that, the All-Pro is trying to emulate some of the better leaders he has seen throughout his career.

Among those? One All-Pro from the New Orleans Saints.

"I've had so many leaders," Baun said during minicamp this week. "There are so many different types of leaders. The quiet, more reserved, but you still really look up to them. DeMario Davis is one that will give you the 'rah-rah' speech.

"I'm still trying to figure out who I wanna be and how I wanna do this. I'm definitely trying to do this my own way."

Davis, much like Baun, has become one of the best linebackers in the league. Since coming to the Saints, he has become a five-time All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler. Along the way, he has been the vocal leader of a Saints team in flux.

Baun isn't going to be like Davis as a leader. He's more of a quiet person.

But if he can have a similar impact and influence on the Eagles' defense as Davis did in New Orleans, Philly's unit will remain among the elite groups in the league.

At the very least, that's what Baun is expecting this season.
