Man Utd star sees value soar by£22m after breakout season, only the beginning

Amad Diallo is one of the few Manchester United players to impress last season.

There is no disputing that the 2024/25 season was a disaster for Manchester United. After losing the Europa League final against Tottenham and finishing 15th in the Premier League, there will be no European football for the Red Devils next term.

That means the players fell short of what was expected of them. That helps explain why Erik ten Hag was sacked in October and replaced by Ruben Amorim, who endured a difficult first six months as United head coach.

Despite changing managers midway through the season, results worsened, especially in domestic competitions. United lost 18 of their 38 league matches, winning just 11 as they recorded their lowest ever Premier League finish.

United’s transfer budget will be hit by the fact that Amorim’s side missed out on Champions League football, but at least one player’s value increased in what was a season to forget for many.

Amad’s value increases by £22m after breakthrough season

It may have been a disappointing season for United, but Amad Diallo’s emergence proves there are some positives to take despite finishing in the bottom half of the table.

Amad had been overlooked at Old Trafford before this season, when his market value stood at £15m before rising to £37m at the end of the campaign, as per Transfermarkt.

That proves that Amad’s stock has risen dramatically after just one season in United’s first team. He made 43 appearances, scoring 11 goals and registering 10 assists. That’s double figures for both goals and assists in his first season.

The aim now is for the 22-year-old to build on his performances going into the 2025/26 campaign and continue to star in Amorim’s side.

It was a blow for Amorim that Amad missed a chunk of the season due to injury before returning in time for the Europa League final.

Rasmus Hojlund’s valuation decreases

Most of United’s players suffered a drop in market value after a disappointing season.

However, the biggest drop hit Rasmus Hojlund, who struggled to lead the attacking line in his second season at the club.

Hojlund’s value dropped £25m after scoring just 10 goals throughout the campaign in all competitions.
