No, it’s not.

I hate to start off one of these posts with an answer to the question in the headline, but Saturday’s matchup between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees provided a truly mind-boggling storyline that needed immediate research.

WEEI’s Tom Carroll probably showed up on your timeline during the contest, as he posted video of a young woman who claimed Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was her favorite player despite being a fan of the Red Sox.

Insane, right!

Bridget is her name, and she’s not here to defend herself so we’ll take it easy, but everything that is written above is enough to cause a migraine. Bridget made the trip to Fenway Park from Vermont for what eventually turned out to be a win for the hometown team, and while she wore their hat, she also threw on a judge’s robe and rooted for the biggest villain in the ballpark whenever he stepped to the plate.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that, and I hope I never do again.

If you’re reading this you probably grew up rooting for the Red Sox. Can you imagine doing so while also citing Derek Jeter as your favorite player? How about Don Mattingly, Thurman Munson or Mickey Mantle — or whoever was wearing pinstripes when you were 14?

No, you can’t.
