Spurs Forward Sparks Suns Trade Rumors With Offseason Move

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant is set to be traded any day now, with the expectation being that he will be dealt before the NBA Draft.

This saga began back in February, when the Suns nearly moved him at the trade deadline without warning. After a 36-46 season, resulting in a No. 11 seed finish in the Western Conference, it was time for Phoenix to make a move anyway.

With Bradley Beal having a no-trade clause and a steep salary, he's nearly untradeable, and Devin Booker is the Suns' franchise player. This leaves Durant as the first domino to fall in roster changes.

Durant's pending trade has an impact on the rest of the NBA, though. Some players will be traded in return. Others will hope it isn't them dealt from their franchise.

The 15-time All-Star has a preference of landing with the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets or Miami Heat, as recent reports revealed.

The Spurs are an interesting team with young trade chips and draft capital. One name involved in hypothetical discussions is Jeremy Sochan, a young building block for the Spurs.

While his name is being tossed around in trade rumors, he sparked those rumors even further with an Instagram story with a Phoenix, Arizona location being tagged.

"Might as well consider it a done deal," one fan speculated.

"The KD trade package," another added.

"KD is headed to the Spurs wow," one fan wrote.

"He’s trollin going to Miami for CWC prolly," one fan clarified.

"Trolling per usual," another fan said.

No trade is done, and that's not why Sochan is in Phoenix. His idea to make an Instagram story was going to spark speculation, though, which is why many praised his "trolling."

The Suns are going to make the best Durant trade for their benefit, which could mean landing Sochan in a trade package. However, they will be sure to net the best possible return they can to retool around Booker.
