Latest Premier League news and rumours including Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Manchester United updates

Liverpool stormed to the Premier League title this past season under the guidance of Arne Slot. The Dutchman was picked as their replacement for Jurgen Klopp last year. He has since adapted well to life in England after catching the eye at Feyenoord.

According to TEAMtalk, the Reds are ‘weighing up’ a move for Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae. He could be seen by the champions as someone to boost their defensive department. He made the move over to Germany in 2023 and is valued around £42million.

Min-jae, 28, is a South Korea international with 52 caps under his belt. He has played for the likes of Fenerbahce and Napoli in the past. Bayern snapped him up two years ago and he has since made 79 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals from the back.

The 3am Verdict: Min-jae could be a shrewd addition for Liverpool if they signed him. He would give Slot another option to pick from in defence. He may also be a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk. The centre-back has played for some big clubs so would be able to deal with the pressure of being with the Reds.

Crystal Palace target Japhet Tanganga swoop

Crystal Palace are keen on a swoop for Millwall centre-back Japhet Tanganga, as per the Express. The player has a release clause of just £1.2million. Newly promoted trio Leeds United, Sunderland and Burnley have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

Tanganga spent time on loan with the Lions before his move was made permanent last year. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur man has since become one of their key players. Alex Neil’s side missed out on the play-offs in the last campaign.

The 3am Verdict: Tanganga would be a steal for any team at just £1.2million. If Crystal Palace signed him, he could be a perfect replacement for Marc Guehi, who is facing an uncertain long-term future at Selhurst Park. Tanganga has played at the top level in the past for Spurs and his switch to Millwall has enabled him to get some regular game time under his belt and boost his development and confidence.

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen

The Sun claim Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is a ‘genuine’ target for Manchester United. The attacker spent last term on loan at Galatasaray and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next. He scored 37 goals in 41 games for the Turkish Super Lig giants.

Osimhen, 26, would be an eye-catching addition for the Red Devils if they were able to land him. Ruben Amorim’s side finished down in 15th place last season. They need to compete higher up the league next time around and start winning trophies again.

The 3am Verdict: United have already brought in Matheus Cunha but could do with more attacking reinforcements. Getting Osimhen would be a statement of intent by the Red Devils and he would inject more firepower in their forward options. He has proved he can score goals in the past and is fresh off the back of a prolific season in Turkey at Galatasaray.
