Liverpool are set to shatter the British transfer record as new details have emerged about Florian Wirtz's move to the banks of the River Mersey.

The Reds have finally reached an agreement after several failed bids, beating off competition from Bayern Munich and Manchester City as the Premier League champions look to widen the gap between them and the competition.

Jeremie Frimpong will be joining his former team-mate in Liverpool while Trent Alexander-Arnold has waved goodbye to Anfield this summer - and he could be joined by his former team-mate Andy Robertson in Madrid.

Robertson has been linked with a move to Real's city rivals Atletico as Liverpool look to balance the books.

And Daily Star Sport has a look at all the news from the past 24 hours.

Florian Wirtz is anticipated to ink a five-year contract on Merseyside.

And according to Sky Sports, the German will pocket a whopping £245,000 a week during his time at Anfield. That works out to an eye-watering £12.7m-per-year, nearly twelve times what he earns at the BayArena.

Liverpool are set to shell out a guaranteed £100 million, with a potential additional £16 million in add-ons for Wirtz. This transaction marks him as Liverpool's priciest signing ever, surpassing Virgil van Dijk.

Andy Robertson is the subject of interest from Atlético Madrid.

It's out with the old and in with the new on Merseyside with Arne Slot edging closer to Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez for a fee of £45m. If Kerkez makes the jump he will link up with fellow new signing Frimpong.

Robertson, who is into the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield, and Slot might be keen to cash in this summer to avoid an Alexander-Arnold situation.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: "Liverpool have almost, almost closed verbally this story for Milos Kerkez. Kerkez wants to go to Liverpool, Kerkez has an agreement with Liverpool, Kerkez is only waiting for a green light with that."

The trigger for Kerkez’s move is expected to be Bournemouth’s signing of the Stade Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert.
