Liverpool gets Milos Kerkez green light as transfer ready to be unveiled

Liverpool looks as though it has just been given the go-ahead to make a move for Milos Kerkez, with Bournemouth already set to unveil his replacement.

The left-back looks to be the Reds’ next port of call in what has been a busy start to the summer transfer window. Already, Jeremie Frimpong and young goalkeeper Armin Pecsi have been signed, while Giorgi Mamardashvili will complete his move from Valencia as Trent Alexander-Arnold heads to Real Madrid.

And it should only be a matter of time before Florian Wirtz is confirmed as a Liverpool player, with what could be a Premier League record transfer having been agreed with Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds aren’t stopping there though.

Kerkez has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside for some time now, with recent reports suggesting that personal terms have already been agreed, and all that’s left is to agree a deal with Bournemouth.

It would appear that the Cherries have already planned for Kerkez’s departure, with his replacement on the south coast having been found.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth has reached an agreement with Rennes to sign French international on a five-year deal. A medical is said to have already been completed, with the player set to be presented in the next week.

That looks to have all but confirmed that Kerkez will be on the move this summer, with Bournemouth having also signed Argentina U23 international Julio Soler back in January as another option on the left of the defense.

Indeed, Romano claims Kerkez will become a Liverpool player “soon”, with the Hungarian looking set to follow Wirtz through the entrance at Anfield.

His move though could lead to Andy Robertson heading out of the exit door, with reports over the weekend suggesting a move to Atletico Madrid could be in the works.

The Spanish side is said to have identified the Scot as a top target at left-back, along with AC Milan star Theo Hernandez, although Liverpool is not thought to have received any formal contact yet.

Robertson has admitted he is considering his future with just a year left on his contract, having spoken to Liverpool about his situation.

"We have discussed it, of course we have," Robertson said. "We've had good discussions with me and the club but what the future holds I am not sure.

"You know all I know is tomorrow I fly off on holiday and it is well needed.

"I need a rest after a long season and then I look forward to pre-season, that's all my focus is. I can't look too far ahead. I never have done that so I am not going to start doing that now.

"I know the position I am in and I have only got a year left and a lot is getting spoken about and getting said but my full focus is on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids."
