Man United have been heavily linked with signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer, who worked under Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP.
The Swedish international has an £85m release clause, and Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Sporting over a potential deal for him. However, Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old, despite the fact they are heavily linked with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
If United were to sign Gyokeres, would he be somewhat of a missing piece for Amorim, or would the United boss need to sign more talent. We asked Chat GPT to predict next season’s Premier League table assuming that Man United sign Gyokeres alongside Cunha, and this is what it said...
AI predicts Man United to secure Champions League football
Manchester City - Pep Guardiola’s side win the league title after bringing in the likes of Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijani Reijnders in the transfer window.
Liverpool - The Reds come up just short of repeating their feat from last season, despite signing Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz.
Arsenal - The Gunners yet again miss out on a Premier League title, and after three seasons with a second-placed finish, they drop down into third.
Manchester United - Ruben Amorim’s side see huge improvement with Gyokeres and Cunha in their ranks. They secure Champions Leaguefootball and their highest finish since 2022/23.
Chelsea - The Blues continue their development under Enzo Maresca, but they will have to juggle the Premier League with Champions League football.
Aston Villa - Another sixth-place finish for Unai Emery’s side, who narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season.
Newcastle United - Much like last time they were in the Champions League, Newcastle see a drop off, and slip down into seventh place.
Tottenham Hotspur - The appointment of Thomas Frank helps Spurs get back in contention for a top six spot, after finishing 17th under Ange Postecoglou last season.
Brighton - Fabian Hurzeler’s side also have a similar season to last year, showing themselves to be a well-established Premier League side.
West Ham United - A big improvement from Graham Potter’s side, after the former Chelsea manager will get a full summer transfer window to bolster his squad.
Everton - In their new stadium, the Toffees also see a great improvement under manager David Moyes.
Crystal Palace - Assuming that Oliver Glasner’s side do get to compete in the Europa League, they could struggle due to a lack of squad depth.
Fulham - Another safe mid-table season for Marco Silva at Fulham, it would be considered slightly disappointing by his high standards.
Bournemouth - A bit of a drop off from the success of last season, cosidering that the Cherries have already lost Dean Huijsen, and could see Milos Kerkez and Antoine Semenyo leave this summer too.
Wolves - Despite losing Matheus Cunha, Vito Pereira manages to ensure his side Premier League safety.
Leeds United - The first of the newly-promoted sides, Leeds are in the best financial position and so can recruit heavily with the hope of staying up this season.
Nottingham Forest - Perhaps the biggest shock, AI thinks that Forest will have a huge drop down the table after finishing seventh last season. However, they do avoid relegation.
Burnley - It is always tough for newly-promoted sides, and AI backs Burnley to struggle and face relegation, becoming somewhat of a ‘yo-yo’ team.
Sunderland - The Black Cats will need to recruit very well this summer if they are able to stay in the Premier League under Regis Le Bris next season.
Brentford - Another surprising prediction, AI believes that without Thomas Frank, and potentially Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford will struggle and finish last.
