Liverpool are eyeing another big-money move this summer and are targeting Anthony Gordon for £100 million, according to The Sun.
Many were skeptical over how Liverpool would fare in the 2024/25 season, given it was their first campaign in almost a decade without Jurgen Klopp at the helm. Arne Slot moved from Feyenoord to take his place and the Dutchman enjoyed an incredible debut term in England, winning the Premier League with four games to spare.
The Reds have wasted little time in preparing for their title defence. Trent Alexander-Arnold has joined Real Madrid and in his place, Liverpool have signed Jeremie Frimpong, formerly of Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds are also pursuing one of the right-back’s Leverkusen teammates in Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool having reportedly agreed a deal for the German.
It appears that Slot wants to further reinforce his attacking options for the new season, if recent reports are correct.

Jack Rosser of The Sun has reported that Liverpool are “weighing up” a move for Anthony Gordon, which would set them back £100 million. The winger has been a sensation for Newcastle United since joining the club from Everton in 2023, with Gordon being dubbed "one of the best wingers around," helping them win a Carabao Cup and qualify for the Champions League twice in that time.

The Sun reported that Liverpool held talks over a potential move for Gordon last summer and it appears that the Reds are keen to reignite that interest. Luis Diaz’s future at Anfield seems uncertain and should the Colombian depart this summer, there would be few replacements Liverpool could sign that would be better than Gordon.
A boyhood fan of the Reds, joining Liverpool is a move that Gordon would welcome should it progress. Whether the club submit a bid that Newcastle are willing to accept, however, remains to be seen.
