Tino Livramento update – Craig Hope reveals where things stand after Man City interest

Tino Livramento not only enjoyed a superb end to the 2024/25 season, he has also shone in England’s opening game of the Under-21 Euros.

After filling in for Lewis Hall impressively at left-back in recent months, the 22-year-old was the best player on the pitch as the Young Lions beat Czechia 3-1, playing a major role in two goals.

On Sunday morning, a number of glowing reports have emerged on his development, with former Chelsea star and current England U21 assistant talking up what a huge future Tino has in the game.

Links with Man City have lingered on, however, and The Mail’s Craig Hope has issued an update on their interest and Newcastle’s stance.

Writing on X this morning, he said – ‘My info on Tino and Man City is that Howe has communicated he absolutely wants to keep him, the player has shown no desire to go and City don’t want to get involved in summer-long saga.’

A positive message from all sides. Eddie Howe has zero interest in allowing him to go, the player isn’t pushing to leave whatsoever and Man City won’t get caught up in a transfer saga, suggesting they may be forced to move on to other targets.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Chronicle, Tino spoke like a man who was happy on Tyneside and hungry for more after one trophy and another Champions League campaign to come:

“I knew that they (Newcastle) were a big club when I joined. They were already in the Champions League the summer when I arrived,” he said.

“So even that was a massive thing for me. To win anything for this club has been a massive achievement, and long may it continue.”
