Raheem Sterling could be set to leave Chelsea on a free transfer this summer as his career at Stamford Bridge appears to be over.
The 30-year-old spent the latest campaign on loan at Arsenal after being frozen out by Enzo Maresca following his arrival last summer.
Arsenal decided against signing Sterling on a permanent basis after he failed to provide much of an impact during his time at the Emirates.
Sterling has now been left out of the Chelsea squad for the Club World Cup, with Maresca making it clear he doesn’t see the winger in his plans moving forward.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it will be “tough” for the London giants to sell him this summer.
Sterling made the move to Stamford Bridge in a £50million deal from Manchester City in 2022, having previously won four Premier League titles during his seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea to part-pay Raheem Sterling’s £325,000-a-week wages
Borson insisted Chelsea are going to have to let Sterling leave for free and pay at least half of his £325,000-a-week wages to move him on this summer.
He told Football Insider: “Sterling is in that basket with Rashford, Sancho and Grealish.
“Sterling’s a bit older. He’s paid about the £300,000 plus level, so £15-20million a year.
“Who buys Raheem Sterling this summer? With the best will in the world, he either goes to Saudi Arabia or Chelsea are effectively subsidising the deal. That’s the answer.
“I don’t know whether he’s interested in going to Saudi Arabia. He’s 31 in December. Obviously, he’s got a young family. Does he want to go to Saudi Arabia? I don’t know.
“If he doesn’t, Chelsea are going to have to expect to get zero transfer fee and pay at least half his wages.
“The slight problem with Sterling is his performance levels really over the last year. At least with Sancho and Rashford, teams can kind of have a vision as to how it might work from a footballing perspective.
“It might be quite hard to make that same argument with Sterling in his current form.
“I think it’s going to be a tough situation for Sterling and Chelsea.”

Chelsea will accept offers for two first-team stars
In terms of more potential exits, Football Insider revealed on 10 June Chelsea will accept offers for Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi this summer.
Trevoh Chalobah is attracting interest from Napoli and other Premier League clubs, but he’s not at the top of Chelsea’s unwanted list.
Maresca and his transfer team will instead look to move on French duo Badiashile and Disasi in the coming weeks.
