Viktor Gyokeres is currently at the centre of many club’s recruitment strategies with the striker impressing during the 2024-25 season.
Gyokeres, 27, scored 45 goals across the Liga Portugal and Champions League last season which has attracted interest from several clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal.
However, with Arsenal now looking more likely to turn to their alternative option Benjamin Sesko, Gyokeres looks more likely to end up away from the Emirates Stadium.
One of the European teams in the conversation for the Swedish international is Juventus who are coming off the back of a 4th place finish in Serie A last season, far from the days of consistent success in the 2010s.
Juventus Prepare Bid For Gyokeres
Now, the 36 time Italian champions are reported to be preparing a bid for Viktor Gyokeres according to corrieredellosport with the fee reported to be €70 million.
With Gyokeres looking set to move away from Sporting following immense disagreements between the striker and the Portuguese champions, a move to Juventus would offer something he has never done before and that is to play in Italy.
Furthermore, a move to Juventus would benefit the Italian club greatly as they would be getting a striker who holds the ability to score goals of a high ability consistently, someone who has embraced success through his time with Sporting CP and a well rounded and a well cultured striker whose abilities would help him fit in.
What Does It Mean For United?
However, for Manchester United, a move to Juventus for the 27 year old would mean United losing out on one of their big targets.
This would mean they would have to turn towards other targets such as Victor Osimhen amongst others.
But, the fact that Juventus are preparing a bid does not mean they are guaranteed to sign the striker. This means that there is still hope for the Red Devils of pulling this deal off and adding someone of an immense ability to their ranks.
What’s for sure is that only time will tell in this deal and whatever club Gyokeres ends up at, they will be getting an immensely talented striker.
