And now, one top name appears ready to make the switch.
According to ESPN Argentina on X, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has given the green light to a move to Old Trafford.
Talks are reportedly underway between the two clubs.
Martinez is favouring United over other suitors including several Saudi Pro League teams.
The Argentine, who joined Villa from Arsenal in 2020, has since become one of Europe’s most dependable shot-stoppers and played a vital role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win.

His form helped Villa secure Champions League qualification in 2023/24.
However uncertainty remains over his future, especially following an emotional farewell at Villa Park on the final day.
Unai Emery has remained non-committal, stating, “He has a contract with us.
“We are very happy and we will see how the summer goes.”
With Villa valuing the 32-year-old at around £25-30 million, United may need to act swiftly if they want to beat off growing competition from Galatasaray for his signature.
