Kyle Walker has “no way back” at Man City after falling out with Pep Guardiola in January and his future is now “all but done”.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about the 35-year-old’s most likely destination during the transfer window.
AC Milan opted not to sign the right-back following an unsuccessful loan spell, but a number of Premier League and European clubs are considering their options.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider on 22 April that Walker will need to take a pay cut to leave the Etihad.
Meanwhile, the player’s preference is believed to be a move abroad after his spell in Italy, with a long-term move on the cards rather than a loan.
City are also keen to shift the England international, as former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Walker will leave in a seven-man exodus.

Kyle Walker is set to leave Man City this summer
Football Insider revealed in February that Man City want to sign a right-back after moving Walker on following his loan move to Milan.
Following the arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki already this summer, plans are still in place to land a replacement for Walker.
O’Rourke explained that it is now certain that the right-back will not be at Man City next season, and there is no shortage of interest in his signature.
“It’s pretty certain there’s no way back at Man City,” he told Football Insider.
“Obviously, he upset Guardiola by asking for that move in January to AC Milan.
“He went to Milan and the expectation was that he would make that loan deal permanent, but it ended in disappointment for Walker and for Milan.
“Heading into pre-season it looks like he will return to Manchester City.
“He’s in the final year of his contract and not in Pep Guardiola’s plans, it seems inevitable he will move on.
“Some Premier League clubs will look at it because he offers great experience.
“The player himself has had that taste of playing abroad and that’s something he could be interested in doing again long-term rather than on loan.
“There’ll be a lot of clubs looking at Kyle Walker and he won’t be short of offers.
“His future at City is all but done.”

The likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa are keeping tabs on his situation, while Bayer Leverkusen have emerged as new contenders.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 11 June that Grealish would prefer to join Everton ahead of Newcastle and has informed friends of his intentions.
