Manchester United have a serious prospect on their hands in Chido Obi and his standing in world football has continued to increase after his exploits for Denmark U20s in the Maurice Revello Tournament.
Chido Obi made his debut for Denmark U20s in the tournament where his team ended up securing third place, beating Mexico in the third-place game.
Obi made four appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist as he looked the part while playing against players almost two or three years his senior.
It was also a tournament where Sekou Kone shone for Mali in limited game time but Obi walked away with the biggest individual honour of the tournament.

Chido Obi wins Maurice Revello Player of the Tournament award
Obi started the tournament hot, getting Victor Osimhen comparisons after his sterling play in the first game against Mexico.
The good form didn’t stop there as he opened his account for Denmark U20s in the very next game, scoring in the 2-0 win against Congo.
Obi was again amongst the goals in the third and final fixture as Denmark beat Japan 3-0 to move to the knockout stage as the unbeaten team.
The form train stopped there as he was hooked off at half-time in the semifinal as Denmark lost 4-3 to Saudi Arabia.

Obi didn’t play a part in the third-place fixture but his exploits in the group stage were enough to earn him the Player of the Tournament award considering he did all this while playing against older players.
Obi went on his Instagram and posted a story of himself holding the award, adding the note which said, “Player of the tournament”.

Obi is ready for Man Utd breakout in 2025/26 season
Obi has been managed expertly by Ruben Amorim as he has balanced the hype around him by giving him limited tasters of first-team action.
He has continuously shown improvement and it was poetic that he ended the season by scoring twice against Hong Kong in the last game of the season.
To see him build on that run of form by securing the Player of the Tournament award will be pleasing to Man Utd and lend credence to a growing belief that he’s ready.
Regardless of whether United buy a striker or not, they shouldn’t loan him and let him fight for scraps at a struggling English league side.
He has the potential to get goals in a well-functioning attack, which is the expectation from the club next season.
Being in and around the first team and playing some minutes in the cup competitions will do much more for him than a loan where he won’t get chances and be potentially aimed at as a soft target if things go wrong.
Obi is ready for a breakout in 2025/26 and it would be a huge boost to United if and when that happens.
