Milos Kerkez’s family appear to have confirmed the defender’s transfer to Liverpool.

The 21-year-old is on the verge of joining Liverpool as Arne Slot’s latest signing in a summer transfer window of heavy spending at Anfield. Kerkez is expected to join Florian Wirtz at Anfield when the transfer window reopens next week.

Reports have suggested that Kerez has agreed personal terms with Liverpool ahead of a deal that is believed to be worth £45million, and Bournemouth are said to have reached an agreement with Rennes to sign France international Adrien Tuffert as his replacement.

With the transfer looking increasingly likely to happen, Kerkez’s brother Marko has appeared to have put the seal on the deal as he shared an Instagram post saying that the Hungarian is joining Liverpool.

Marko reshared an Instagram post to his story that saw Kerkez flexing his muscles on a speedboat. The post also added a caption, which when translated, read: “Milos Kerkez, soon to be a new Liverpool player”.

Kerkez played all 38 Premier League matches for the Cherries last season, contributing two goals and six assists.

He reportedly only has eyes for Liverpool, who see him as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, and he left the Hungary squad last week, citing 'personal reasons'.

Robertson has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid as he heads into the final year of his contract at Liverpool. The 31-year-old Scot came under scrutiny last year after suffering a drop in form from his previous years of consistency down Liverpool’s left flank.

Speaking about his future on international duty, Robertson said: "When you play for a big club like Liverpool you expect challenges, you expect to have competition, I've always faced that and so has everyone in their own positions.

"We want the club to be ambitious, they're doing that and wherever we fit into that, if you're happy with the role you stay and do it and if you're not then I'm sure there will be some people out the door as well. That's the nature of football."

Liverpool’s backup left-back Kostas Tsimikas could also leave the club, with the Reds open to offers for the Greece international.
