Report: Man Utd eyeing move to sign 'gloriously talented' star as Berrada stands firm on Mbeumo …

Should Manchester United fail to sign Bryan Mbeumo, then they could target Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, according to ESPN.

The 2024/25 season was a turgid one for Man United. With dismal Premier League form, the club seemed entirely focused on the Europa League for the final weeks of the campaign, with it being confirmed before the term’s end that the Red Devils would finish with their lowest-ever Premier League points tally.

Losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final ensured that Man United would not be playing European football next season. Despite that, though, the Red Devils have still been active in the transfer market, having confirmed the addition of Matheus Cunha, who developed into a star with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Man United are evidently still keen on reinforcing their attack, the club having been linked with a move for Bryan Mbeumo. It is clear, however, that the Old Trafford side are considering alternatives in case they are needed.

Eze Another Option For Man United

Red Devils have scouted numerous targets

Eberechi Eze

As per ESPN, Mbeumo remains a priority for Manchester United, but there is only so much that the club would be willing to spend on the forward. Club CEO Omar Berrada reportedly has a “price point,” which is predetermined and something that the Red Devils would not overstep.

Considering that, should Mbeumo prove too costly for the club, then Eberechi Eze is another option that Man United might pursue. With Crystal Palace, Eze has developed into one of England’s best number 10’s and last season, scored the only goal in the FA Cup final to help Palace win their first-ever piece of major English silverware.

With a Europa League campaign to prepare for, Palace would certainly be reluctant to let Eze, who has been described as a "gloriously talented" player, leave. Should Man United agree a deal for the England international, however, it would be a stellar signing for the Red Devils, who will be desperate to improve on such a poor season.
