Ribeiro, a Brazilian centre-back, has now caught the attention of the Arsenal scouts. He recently earned his first call-up to the Brazilian national team under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The 25-year-old featured in a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay. Reports suggest that Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch him live.
They were impressed with his showing for Brazil, where he looked calm on the ball and strong in duels.
