Man United wantaway star chooses‘priority’ destination amid interest from several clubs

Forward Alejandro Garnacho wants to leave Manchester United this summer after burning bridges with his team-mates.

The Argentine has failed to impress under manager Ruben Amorim and could struggle to get playing time next season if he stays at United.

The Red Devils have completed the signing of Matheus Cunha and could also sign Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

The duo will likely play as the two number 10s next term, potentially reducing Garnacho’s game time – making an exit from United logical.

The talented winger has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen, and Napoli.

With interests from within and outside England, Garnacho’s priority is to stay in the Premier League, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

A deal for the Argentina international ‘looks complicated’ for Leverkusen despite the club’s appointment of Erik ten Hag as their new manager.

He reportedly wants to join Chelsea but their first-choice target is Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

Napoli have shown more substantial interest in Garnacho than the Blues. However, his preference to stay in England could be a stumbling block for the Serie A champions.

United have valued him at £70 million but have yet to receive a concrete offer for his signature.

The Manchester outfit would benefit immensely if they find a club to pay the young star’s asking price, considering their need to reinforce in key areas and the cost of doing so.

United are in the market for a striker and are now exploring a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, valued at €100m (£85m).

The Athletic also claim they ‘would like to add depth in the midfield’ and are exploring the possibility of signing a new goalkeeper.

Generating funds from the sales of players such as Garnacho would help them fund the move for Ekitike and other transfer targets.
