Under Ruben Amorim, Manchester United is putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes to assemble a more competitive team this summer.

As the Portuguese manager strives for a more vibrant and disciplined team, a number of veteran players are anticipated to depart Old Trafford.

As much emphasis is placed on transferring players out as on bringing in new players, particularly those who have fallen short of expectations since joining the team.

One name who is set to depart the Red Devils this summer is Alejandro Garnacho.

After a spectacular ascent under Erik ten Hag and a prominent decline under Ruben Amorim, Alejandro Garnacho appears to be nearing the end of his Manchester United career.

Garnacho, who is only 20 years old, has already established himself in the United team after the Dutch manager’s breakthrough campaign two years ago.

Garnacho entered the game with 20 minutes remaining against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final, gave the club the spark they had been lacking up to that moment.

After the game, though, he voiced his annoyance about it and hinted that he wasn’t content with the club.

And shortly after, CentreDevils exclusively revealed that the Argentine winger’s relationship with Ruben Amorim had completely broken down.

Garnacho has since been linked with a reunion with ex-manager Erik ten Hag but it now seems that this reunion won’t happen.

According to Matt Addison of Liverpool FC News, Bayer Leverkusen probably won’t be signing Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United as a replacement for Florian Wirtz.

Although the acquisition has not yet been formally completed, Liverpool has reached an agreement to pay up to $157 million (£116 million) plus add-ons for Florian Wirtz, an offensive midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Garnacho looks set to be off the table for Leverkusen whose boss is former Red Devils coach Erik ten Hag.

Having been given a debut and integrated through Erik ten Hag, it’s fair to say that Garnacho has a close relationship with the Dutch manager.
