After being charged with attempted murder in Miami, Fla., former NFL wideout Antonio Brown shared a bizarre message on his X/Twitter account:

On Thursday evening, multiple media reports stated that the former All-Pro wide receiver was wanted for attempted murder following a shooting outside of a celebrity boxing match in Miami.

According to Curt Anderson of the Associated Press, Antonio Brown is accused of grabbing a firearm from a security guard and firing two gunshots at a man with whom he had gotten into a physical altercation. The charge carries a max prison sentence of 15 years and a fine worth as much as $10,000, per Anderson.

After news of the attempted murder charge against Brown broke, the 36-year-old posted two photos of himself flexing in boxing gloves with a caption reading, “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger Wanna play? Then play hard.”

The attempted murder charge is the latest concerning off-the-field issue involving Brown, whose legal problems and troublesome behavior led to the end of his once-flourishing NFL career. Brown last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 season.

Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me.…
