Cleveland Cavaliers place lottery pick on trade block

The Cleveland Cavaliers had the Eastern Conference’s best record, compiling 64 wins during the regular season. But when it came time to perform in the playoffs, the Cavs only lasted until the Eastern Conference Semifinals before being eliminated in five games.

Now, despite all their regular season success, the Cavs are looking to shake up the roster in an attempt to build an even stronger playoff contender. Yet, to do so, the Cavaliers may have to part with some key members of their core.

Specifically, [Hoops Wire’s Sam Amico](https://hoopswire.com/cavaliers-cavs-darius-garland-nba-trade-rumors-news-nba/) reports that the Cavaliers have placed both Dean Wade and Isaac Okoro on the trade block this offseason.

Okoro was the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. While the 24-year-old has developed into a solid contributor in the rotation, he hasn’t been a regular starter since his second season in 2022. Now the Cavaliers could be hoping to combine Okoro with Wade in an effort to find a more impactful regular who can further their playoff push in crunch time.

Wade has an expiring salary of $6.6 million heading into next season. Meanwhile, Okoro is set to earn $11 million next year before entering the final year of his contract in 2026-27, where he’s set to earn $11.8 million.
