Giannis Antetokounmpo Finally Responds to Ridiculous Underachiever Tag With 1 Instagram Story

Giannis Antetokounmpo probably has the most unique wares in the NBA among active players not named Lebron James. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar got Defensive Player of the Year, two MVPs, one Finals MVP, an NBA title, NBA Cup, and so on.

Those are not enough according to commentator Stephen A. Smith in his another wild take.

The First Take host, who the other day got blasted for being caught red-handed playing solitaire while in the NBA finals venue, made the comment amidst all the trade talks surrounding Giannis. The Bucks star declared that he wants to go back to the NBA finals with his current team and Smith thinks it is a wrong decision.

“He’s got one postseason series in the last four years,” he said in the show.

“It ain’t his fault. He’s been hurt a couple times. But to know Giannis, his career his accomplishments, his cache and to say one championship, nah, nah, you definitely expect more than that.”

Smith has been under fire lately for his hot takes that don’t seem to fly with logic. He was also confronted by Lebron James months ago for talking about his role as a father to Bronny.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s IG repost

Antetokounmpo is aware of everything that is going on in social media. He recently shaded reporter Shams Charania who insists that he still wants out of Wisconsin despite his recent statements.

The Smith ‘underachiever’ take did not escape him. Over in his IG story on Sunday, he reposted an X post made by NBA Analyst and BBCSport reporter Mo Mooncey aimed at putting Smith’s take in place.

Giannis went from selling sunglasses on a beach in Greece, to a multi-millionaire who won a championship without having to run off and create a super team.

Even ESPN analyst Jay Williams joined Bucks fans in debunking Smith.

Giannis the underachiever, huh?

•Won a title w/ no superteam

•50 in a Finals closeout

•2x MVP

•DPOY

•Finals MVP

•All-NBA, All-Defense every year

•Face of a franchise, Global face
