Liverpool has already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and the highly-rated young goalkeeper Armin Pecsi this summer, and it should soon seal a move for Florian Wirtz too. Milos Kerkez, meanwhile, is another target.
But as well as bringing new faces in, Liverpool will also need to be active in terms of outgoings. And there are plenty of players who could be on the way out, in part to balance the books, and in part to reduce the size of the roster.
Arne Slot seemingly likes to have two players in each position, but Liverpool cannot leave itself short. Sporting director Richard Hughes will be determined to get good fees for all of those who leave, as well.
Who could be in the shop window and heading for the exit door? Liverpool.com has taken a look.
Darwin Nunez
Having not scored a Premier League goal since March 8 (on his last league start for Liverpool against Southampton), it would be safe to say Darwin Nunez has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield. A move away would feel like the right thing for both parties.
Nunez has been at Liverpool for three full seasons, but he hasn't really kicked on. He has threatened to ignite at times, but if it was going to happen, it almost certainly would have by now.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia remain keen having come calling in January. There is likely to be interest from Europe too, with suggestions that Atletico Madrid and Napoli could be among the players' suitors.

Andy Robertson
Atletico Madrid has registered an interest in signing Andy Robertson, amid Liverpool's intentions to bring in Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. And there could be an appeal to such a switch for the Scotland captain.
Robertson would probably be given guarantees of minutes at the Metropolitano and it would offer him a fresh challenge in a new country. For Liverpool, though, losing another leader from the group wouldn't be ideal.

Harvey Elliott
Currently away with England for the U21 European Championship, Harvey Elliott is too talented to spend another season parked on the bench. If he does move, though, it won't be for a small fee.
Elliott could probably do with going somewhere where he will be the first choice. There shouldn't be a shortage of options, but he will cost a substantial amount, which might limit them to some degree.
In a World Cup year, Elliott should be looking to play almost every week. There is no reason that he can't squeeze into Thomas Tuchel's reckoning if he does that, but it seems pretty unlikely at Liverpool, especially once Wirtz arrives.

Federico Chiesa
Italian winger Federico Chiesa has an excellent song, but if he were to leave, Liverpool probably wouldn't have to replace him. That is how little he played in his debut campaign after signing from Juventus.
Chiesa has said a few times that he is happy to stay at Liverpool, but the interest from elsewhere keeps growing. And like Elliott, he needs minutes to earn himself a place at the World Cup.
Will that happen under Arne Slot? It doesn't seem likely. Chiesa wasn't even in the matchday squad for many games last season. Moving ahead of Mohamed Salah in the pecking order will be impossible.

Jarell Quansah
Liverpool should be desperate to keep Jarell Quansah. As a young center-back with a high ceiling, he is exactly what Slot would be looking for from his third or fourth choice in the heart of the defense.
Bayer Leverkusen has been linked and there will no doubt be others who come in for Quansah if he pushes for a move. Staying where he is and learning from Virgil van Dijk, though, should also be appealing.
Elsewhere, Tyler Morton, Ben Doak, Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams, and Calvin Ramsay should all depart. Morton, in particular, has had a frustrating season in which he wasn't able to kick on.
He needs to find a permanent home where he can showcase his considerable talent. Doak, too, is unlikely to find a route to minutes if he sticks around, given the competition ahead of him.
