Spurs blow as £70million star is ready to sign for Manchester United – Report

Mbeumo Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo proved to be a major hit in the Premier League for Brentford under the management of Thomas Frank.

Now, that Frank has officially moved to Tottenham Hotspur, he wants the Cameroonian international to join him in north London.

News –£30m-£34m proven star willing to seal move to Manchester United – Report

It has already been reported that Spurs have moved in with an offer worth £70million, £10million more than Manchester United, to sign Mbeumo from the Bees.

However, as per the latest updates, the African star is willing to snub his former boss and is still pushing to sign for the Old Trafford outfit.

According to today’s version of The i Paper, despite interest from Spurs, Mbeumo still favors a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The media outlet have mentioned that should United match the bid submitted by Tottenham, i.e. £70million, then it would be hard for Frank to convince the 25-year-old playmaker.

Spurs can offer him Champions League football in the next campaign but can they match the high wages usually offered by United?

Another question, is £70million too much for United as they have already spent £62.5million to hire the services of Matheus Cunha from Wolves?

Keeping in view their financial situation, Amorim may need to offload some players to fund such a deal.

The likes of Antony, Rashford and Sancho spent time on loan last term and should ideally be offloaded if not wanted by the Portuguese boss.

Mbeumo netted 20 goals in the Premier League last season and can help Man Utd improve their extremely low tally of 44.
