Andy Robertson dreams transfer to Atletico Madrid could become reality. But, only if Liverpool agree to a big gesture in return.
Robertson Eyes Atletico Switch, but Fee Is the Problem
Andy Robertson is one of **Liverpool**‘s most decorated defenders and is now keen to forge a new chapter in Spain with Atletico Madrid. For years he has been bombing down the left flank at Anfield and has played an integral part in Jurgen Klopp’s success.
If Andy Robertson doesn't want to be second choice LB & has an opportunity to go to a team like Atletico Madrid, Liverpool should facilitate it for everything he's done for the club, he isn't getting any younger and it's a great opportunity. pic.twitter.com/1ViUGL112S

After a long spell of playing in England, the 31-year-old is ready to move on. Atleti sees Robertson as their ideal left back and have expressed desire to take him on a free transfer. He still has one year left on his contract. But, Atletico are banking on Reds for letting him go for free. That will be out of appreciation for his eight years of tireless service.
In the meantime, Trent Alexander-Arnold is already signed with Real Madrid. The Scottish defender may also be bound for La Liga. With both full-backs possibly leaving in the same window, this marks a huge shift in Arne Slot’s backline era.
Kerkez Arrival Signals End of Era For Andy Robertson
Liverpool’s chase for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez makes Robertson’s exit look even more likely. The 20-year-old Hungarian has reportedly agreed personal terms. The Reds are close to sealing a £40-45m deal.
With Kerkez set to take over as first-choice left-back, Robertson risks spending his final season on the bench. Initially, the plan was to sell Kostas Tsimikas and keep Robertson as a backup. But, the situation has flipped.
The Scotland left-back has won nine trophies with the Reds since his £8m move from Hull City. Now, he sees the writing on the wall.
He’d prefer to play every week in Spain than to be second choice at Anfield. For the deal to be approved, Liverpool need to agree to release him for free. That would be a respectful thing of a player that gave him all to the football club.
