Nottingham Forest are going to be doing quite a bit of business before the transfer window closes in September.
So far, Igor Jesus is joining from Botafogo, with deals for Jair Cunha and Cuiabano from the Brazilian champions also in the offing.
Anthony Elanga is being linked with Newcastle but the hope will be that he remains at the club for at least another season as the Reds look to try and kick on once more.
With the club’s loan players returning to the City Ground, Forest won’t want to be guilty of seeing a bomb squad form once again at the club’s training ground ahead of the new season.
As a result, there is some work to do when it comes to getting players out of the club this summer.

Andrew Omobamidele set to leave Nottingham Forest
With a plethora of central defenders stacking up on Trentside, Forest are now set to offload Omobamidele on a permanent basis during the transfer window.
According to DNA Sports in France, Strasbourg are now going to activate the clause in his loan deal that allows them to sign him on a permanent basis.
Omobamidele checked in at Forest from Norwich on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2023, with Steve Cooper bolstering his squad at the eleventh hour.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Intriguingly, Cooper never picked him once before he was sacked in December 2023, before Nuno Espirito Santo started to use him a little bit in the second half of 2023/24.
Last season, Omobamidele wasn’t getting a look in under the Forest head coach and amid the arrival of Nikola Milenkovic and Morato, he was allowed to join Strasbourg on loan in January.
There, he helped the club qualify for the UEFA Conference League, making 11 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit who are managed by former Derby head coach Liam Rosenior.
It’s not clear what fee Forest will recoup for Omobamidele, but getting him off the wage budget makes good business sense from the club’s perspective.
Other players will follow Omobamidele out of the City Ground exit
Although every fan craves new players coming into the football club, Forest need to get some more players out in the opposite direction.
Harry Toffolo has already left Forest, with Alex Moreno also heading back to Aston Villa after his loan spell ended.
There will be doubts over the likes of Marko Stamenic and David Carmo who have spent the season with Olympiacos on loan, whilst Tyler Bindon might go out on loan again after joining from Reading.
The hope will be that losing Omobamidele will spark a domino effect and Espirito Santo will hope that a bomb squad hasn’t developed once again come the end of the summer window.
