Newcastle United’s Will Osula has received an interesting message from Anthony Elanga after scoring a brace for Denmark Under-21s.

The Newcastle United forward continued his great start to the European Under-21 Championship. Osula scored the winner against Ukraine in the opening game, and now he was decisive against Netherlands.

Osula was named in the starting XI and scored two goals to allow Denmark to come from behind and win 2-1 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Newcastle fans are delighted for Osula, who is one goal behind the tournament’s leading scorer Nick Woltemade.

It has been an amazing start to the summer for the Newcastle United youngster, who has taken to Instagram to deliver a message after his match-winning brace on Sunday evening.

Alongside images from the win over Netherlands, Osula wrote: “2 goals. GODS work. Through to quarter final.”

Osula received some interesting replies, with Toon teammate Joe Willock writing: “This is what we spoke about .. Gods work.”

There were also responses from the likes of Tino Livramento and Trevan Sanusi, but the most intriguing reply was Anthony Elanga’s.

The Nottingham Forest attacker wrote: “Not gonna say too much. … keep going ma boy.”

Newcastle are interested in signing Elanga, as Eddie Howe aims to add a new right winger to his squad. Elanga was a Newcastle target last summer, and the 23-year-old is very much back on the Magpies’ radar.

However, his price tag could be an issue. Newcastle value Elanga at £35million, whereas Forest want more than £50million.

Are Will Osula and Anthony Elanga friends?

Toon fans will hope that Elanga’s relationship with Osula can tempt the Swede to Tyneside.

The duo are always interacting with each other on social media. Elanga messaged Osula after his goal against Ukraine and now he has done it again following the 21-year-old’s latest achievement.

But how do the duo know each other? Well, they have become friends due to them both being represented by CAA Stellar. That is the same agency that represents Toon goalkeeper Nick Pope and Newcastle transfer target James Trafford.

Osula is not the only Newcastle United player that Elanga has a relationship with. He is international teammates with Alexander Isak and Emil Krafth, which could also help him adapt to life on Tyneside if he makes the move to the North East.

Elanga and Isak spoke about the Newcastle rumours last summer, with the Magpies failing to strike a deal with Nottingham Forest.
